An hour ferry to Büyükada. No cars. Bikes, horse carts, restored mansions, pine forests. A full day trip, best May–September.

2. Bursa

The first Ottoman capital. Two hours by bus. Green Mosque, Grand Mosque, the covered market. Doable as a day but better as an overnight.

**Cappadocia** — flight both ways, at minimum an overnight. **Ephesus** — same, needs a plane and an overnight. **Gallipoli** — a long emotional day; possible but rushed.
